Alphabet Soup

I hope your memory is good. This is the same kind of game as Jambalaya Jim where you build on what the last person in the group says. This game can get really silly if you don’t limit the type of items to put in the soup such as “food items only”. If you don’t limit it, people will be putting cars and arms and roller skates in the soup, which makes it really fun and also funny. It can also get into the “potty talk” realm which you’ll need to moderate… or not.

Object: To see if the group can remember all the items, listed A – Z, they are putting in the soup.

Set-up: Gather your group into a circle.

Materials: None.

Number of Participants: 12 – 20

Area: Enough to accommodate the number of participants gathered into a circle.

How To Play: The leader starts by saying, “I’m making Alphabet Soup and I’m putting in a…” and then they say something that begins with the letter “A”. Play continues to the person on their left who says, “I’m making Alphabet Soup and I’m putting in a [whatever “A” was] and a [something that begins with the letter “B”]”. Play continues around the circle until an item from every letter of the alphabet has been put into the soup.
