Giants, Dwarves and Wizards

This is a great way to bring the old game of “Rock, Paper Scissors” to life.

Materials: None

Area: basketball court per 30 participants

How To Play: Divide the teams into two equal groups and separate them on the far ends of the court. Each team huddles and decides as a group to be either a Giant, a Wizard or a Dwarf. Once they decide, they face off at the center court, careful not to divulge their identity until the war signal is given. When the counselor says “War” each side takes on the form of their chosen identity for that round.

Wizards raise one hand in the air as if to conjure up a spell. Giants put both hands in the air to show they are taller than everyone else. Dwarves put both hands at their sides to show they are shorter than everyone else.

Wizards are more powerful than Giants. If they come up against a Giant, they must try and tag the Giant before the Giant runs back to their safe zone (their end of the court where they started).

Giants are more pwerful than Dwarves. If they come up against a Dwarf, they must try and tag the Dwarf before the Dwarf runs back to their safe zone (their end of the court where they started).

Dwarves are more powerful than Wizards. If they come up against a Wizard, they must try and tag the Wizard before the Wizard runs back to their safe zone (their end of the court where they started).

All tagged participants are recruited to the other team until it is just one person against a wild throng.
